Not very thick, if the surface you are applying it to isn't flat, it will fall right off. I was using it as cam lube, I rotated the cam and it fell off the lobes. Clevite makes a better assmebly lube that's thick, and can be rotated and stays in place. This is fine for the price but there are better options

Best luby-lube you can get. Used for installing the Cam and Crankshaft in my LM7. Spin on crank felt smooth as glass after torque to spec.02 silverado 5.3 1500 4x4

There's more then enough lube to build a few engines, a little bit goes a long way! Overall, great product. First time using permatex assembly lube, had used some of their other products. Turned out to be a good buy.

A very good trusted product that served me well in the install of a big bore kit on my scooter and is a must have for any engines deep assembly! One bottle goes a long way and is a must have if you plan to do internal engine repairs and or upgrades
