Used on cam , lifters , push rods, valve guides. Sticks like glue to ensure lubrication on first startup.

Exactly as described, comes out nice and gooey. Maybe other brands work just as well but i trust Permatex they've never let me down. This is good stuff and the price is reasonable. Highly recommended if you need assembly lube!

I bought this to put a Harley 88ci back together. This stuff is super sticky and slick. Best assembly lube I've ever used. I will continue to use this product from now on.

Engine assembly lube... ever rebuild engines? keep one on the shelf. Maybe other people make this stuff, but I don't know... this is the only brand I buy... you can literally fling this around a new motor being as liberal as you want and never use a whole container. There must be a ton of off label uses for this stuff... but just know... don't rebuild a motor without coating all the components in this during assembly.

This stuff reminds me of maple syrup once you get it on your hands it'll end up everywhere. The purple color is nice since it easy to see where it's been applied and how much (thickness). It is very stringy, which makes a mess if you're in a rush, but if you wait a few seconds the strings seem to go away.

This stuff is pretty good. I had been using clean engine oil to lubricate engine parts during assembly until I got pulled off a job and couldn't get back to it for a couple of days. By the time I did get back to it, I couldn't rotate the camshafts to get the engine timed, so I had to back track and partially disassemble so I could finish the job. I bought this after that experience and haven't had a problem since. This stuff is thick and sticky, so I just rub it all over the cam lobes, cam journals and valve tappets (I do a lot of short blocks) and everything is good to go. I've done about 8 - 10 engines and I have about 1/3 of the bottle left to use.
