Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals, Veterinary Services

Mission: Pet Friendly Services of Indiana (formerly Spay-Neuter Services of Indiana) is Indiana's statewide leader in animal welfare, working directly with 300 rescue groups and shelters to help them serve as many animals as possible. Pet Friendly Services also offers $25 surgeries to limited-income Hoosier pet owners and caretakers. Together, we are ending the suffering, homelessness and euthanasia of healthy and treatable pets. Spay/neuter addresses the root cause of overpopulation, and our strategic programs yield permanent results. Spay/neuter programs are incredibly cost effective compared to sheltering animals. Join us on as we continue our journey on the proven path to success for Indiana’s dogs and cats.

Results: Pet Friendly Services of Indiana has facilitated more than 190,000 surgeries across Indiana. Our free and low-cost surgeries prevent unwanted litters, and lower both shelter intake and euthanasia numbers. Indiana is beginning to see signs of success, with shelters reporting zero kill (90% live release rate) in Brown, Dubois, Fulton, Hamilton and Tippecanoe Counties, along with the Muncie Animal Shelter. Other shelters are increasing their live release rates and are working toward zero kill. Shelters and rescue groups are clamoring for more of our free spay/neuter certificates, which are funded by the proceeds of the Pet Friendly specialty license plate, grants, bequests and donations from animal lovers.
