Mission: Our mission is to increase children's experiences with language, literacy, and human interactions to better understand themselves, communicate with others, and connect with the world. When children PLAY and WRITE and READ, they engage in meaningful interactions, practicing crucial behaviors and skills necessary to build strong language and literacy abilities that will better equip them for life!
Results: Since 2016, we have distributed over 200,000 books to children along with over 40,000 bags filled with supplies to encourage language play, writing, and creativity.
Target demographics: underserved children, ages birth through high school.
Direct beneficiaries per year: approximately 14,000 children in 19 counties in Northern Lower Michigan.
Geographic areas served: Northern Lower Michigan.
Programs: book and literacy material give-aways at schools and sites of community assistance.
