Mission: Polar Bears International (PBI) is the only conservation organization whose sole passion and focus is polar bears. Consisting of a small team of conservationists, scientists, and volunteers, PBI works to secure a future for polar bears across the Arctic by collaborating on research and education projects with partners across the north. Our overarching mission is to conserve polar bears and the sea ice they depend on. Through media, science, innovation, and advocacy, we inspire people around the world to care about the Arctic, the threats to its future, and the connection between this region and our global climate.

Programs: Maternal Den Studies to monitor and track den activity and the changes over time as a result of changing climates. Understanding the relationship between sea ice and the health of polar bear populations. Helping polar bears avoid conflict with humans by working with communities to develop tools to help detect polar bears before they enter areas of human development. Live educational broadcasts from the tundra during the fall polar bear migrations in the Western Hudson Bay region of Canada. Climate training for zoo partners focused on polar bear conservation.
