Pondmaster Pond-Mag 24 Pumps are specifically designed to meet the demands of a pond. Unlike other pumps, magnetic drive Pondmaster pond pumps are made to run continuously, without seals to wear out. Magnetic drive pumps are highly energy efficient using less energy than direct driven pumps, and they will potentially save hundreds of dollars over time. Filled with epoxy, rather than oil, the Mag 24 pump cannot leak oil into the pond, which can be harmful or fatal to fish and plants.
Pondmaster's pond pumps are low-maintenance with only one moving part, a ceramic shaft and impeller. The Mag 24 pump also features an ABS case, corrosion-proof fasteners, and heavy duty copper windings, resulting in a durable, energy-efficient, and long lasting pump. I like the pump. It appears to be sufficient. I have some pond leakage problems. I'm trying to get them solved and until I do, then, I'll know more about the pump. So far, I think it will satisfy my need as to the amount of output it provides.

My pump failed after the second season, so I called Danner and spoke to a woman about the problem, and she politely told me to send it back, with the POP, as it was still in warranty. Though I had to pay the shipping to get it there, they sent me a brand new unused PM 24 pump in the mail. About a year later it stopped pumping, so I got a new impeller for about $40, and it was as good as new. Now if they only had an inexpensive way to replace the flimsy ceramic shaft connected to the impeller, than I wouldn't have to buy a replacement one every other year, but since I live in California where the average summer temp is above 100 degrees, and the pump still works great after several years, I can honestly say that it has been worth it to me. I can still buy several impellers for the price of a new pump of a different brand, which may not even be able to take the daily abuse of overheating as well as the Danner Mag Drive. Because is has a completely sealed motor, there is nothing to go wrong but the impeller. So from my perspective, Danner pumps are well built, because mine has lasted quite a few years, and fortunately I haven't had any problems with their customer service.
