I like the pump. It appears to be sufficient. I have some pond leakage problems. I'm trying to get them solved and until I do, then, I'll know more about the pump. So far, I think it will satisfy my need as to the amount of output it provides.

My pump failed after the second season, so I called Danner and spoke to a woman about the problem, and she politely told me to send it back, with the POP, as it was still in warranty. Though I had to pay the shipping to get it there, they sent me a brand new unused PM 24 pump in the mail. About a year later it stopped pumping, so I got a new impeller for about $40, and it was as good as new. Now if they only had an inexpensive way to replace the flimsy ceramic shaft connected to the impeller, than I wouldn't have to buy a replacement one every other year, but since I live in California where the average summer temp is above 100 degrees, and the pump still works great after several years, I can honestly say that it has been worth it to me. I can still buy several impellers for the price of a new pump of a different brand, which may not even be able to take the daily abuse of overheating as well as the Danner Mag Drive. Because is has a completely sealed motor, there is nothing to go wrong but the impeller. So from my perspective, Danner pumps are well built, because mine has lasted quite a few years, and fortunately I haven't had any problems with their customer service.

With the inlet on top, there is less maintenance as do the pumps with the inlet on the bottom. Only worry is that it is a magnetic pump.

We had to replace the pump in a fountain. This this is a monster. Fast shipping and perfect condition. What else is there to say?

We've used these for years in the AP system. It is always good policy to have a spare impeller and cover in case it eats something. There are newer ones that are more frugal in their power usage I believe, but these are way better than the mechanical pumps.

Would have like it better if it came with fittings for some common hose sizes (i.e. 1" to 1.5") I had to buy these at a hardware store myself. Otherwise, it appears to run quietly and unnoticed.
