Inexpensive..use it in a 170 gallon Hotsprings hotspot spa.Since a seasonal item (?) I was unable to find one at Walmart and these things shouldn't be overpriced but they would be if I went to a Spa Store.

My hot tub has built-in mineral and chlorine cartridges. Mineral cartridge lasts about 4 months, chlorine cartridge only lasts about a month. Water turns yellow or cloudy when the chlorine cartridge runs out - with no real advance warning. So I bought this floater - when the water turns color, I toss this floater (with one or two chlorine tablets) into the hot tub, then replace the built-in chlorine cartridge. The water color clears up within a day, then I pull the floater out and dry it for future use.I think this floater would also work fine as the main chlorine source for a hot tub, but, as noted above, I'm not using it that way since my hot tub has built in cartridges.

The dispenser is made pretty well, but the instructions for adjusting the feeder are not clear. There is a ring under the floating top that you should loosen to see the numbers on the neck. After turning the neck to desired number tighten the ring.Other than that it seems to work well.
