My wife recently bought this for our hot tub. She put it in a week ago, and today we had the opportunity to use it. The water had plenty of chlorine, and the device just bobbed around. Looks and smells like it works, I just wouldn't touch it too much, if you do your fingers may smell like chlorine.

Have a hot tub with a cover. I needed this to be able to float freely under the cover! Works great!

I purchased a cheaper unit just 9 months earlier. It was working fine until the lid would not stay secure. Turns out that the lid was held by two tiny 2mm protrusions which easily broke off.So I purchased this unit for a few bucks more. It works so much better, the opening is screwed on using a much sturdier method, similar to a nuts and bolt threading.
