I wanted a black hat for our 5 year old to stick patches to. This hat was reasonably priced, I loved that it was a known brand (Port Authority), and the plastic snap back. I sewed a velcro patch to the front and viola! He wears it everywhere, so its a little dirty, but the color hasnt faded, and the hat has upheld the wear.

My 9yo got this hat for Christmas and literally wears it from the moment he wakes up until he goes to bed at night. He spends most of his time outside playing hard. This hat seems to take the abuse well. The stitching is still in great shape and the netting and front of the hat has also held up well. The hat is ajustable so he hasn't had any issues with size. When it does wear out we will definitely be getting him another one of these.
