Always meets specifications during USATF AND AAU meets. My daughter used this shot at the USA Track and Field Youth Championship Meet. Weigh in procedures are very strict and this shot put passed weigh in without any problem!!!

My daughter is a varsity track and field competitor at her high school. We purchased this shot during the summer and she has used it for about three months. It arrived on schedule and was in great condition. She has had no issues with it. Her hand has not been bothered by any surface irregularities. Not a lot more to say about a round iron ball other than enjoy!

I bought one of these for my kid to use as a practice shot put. After getting this and being able to practice, he went from 3rd place in Regionals to the Gold Medal in the Special Olympics state meet!

Purchased this shot for my girl's high school team. Item was delivered quickly. We went to sections and when the shot weight it was 3.98 K so this was not a legal for competition. It's a good practice shot.

I purchased two of these shot puts so she could practice on weekends when the track equipment was not available. She is in junior high school and this is the size they use in competition. They are smooth and well balanced.

I rated it 5 stars for the fact that it is cheap and meets all requirements for an implement of this size. When your buying a shot put for MS Boys and HS Girls it doesn't have to be fancy. The kids are just going to beat it to death, why would you buy a $100+ shot put for this age group. The Nelco 4K Competition Shot Put does the job and can easily be replaced if lost or stolen. Happy throws.

This product is completely functional, it arrived within the estimated time of arrival, it is not rough like other shot put balls you find online.
