Packaging came all messed up but what do you expect... it's a shot put in a box. She hasn't practiced much since track ended but we expect she'll get back into form once soccer is over. It's a great investment. Very little cost. I look at it this way, if you want your kid to take the sport seriously during the season... you have to invest during the offseason.

I ordered the 4k (8.818lbs) shot put.<br />I received a 3.63k (8.003lbs) shot put.<br />This is a big difference for competition.<br />To late to return for the correct one.

My daughter had been practicing with this shot. She went to her first shot put competition today. It weighed in at 3.88 kg. Luckily, another thrower let her borrow a shot.

I would recommend you check the weight with a calibrated kilogram scale if you will be taking this shot put to any official event to make sure it is the correct official weight.

Great practice shot! I haven't weighed it so I am not sure if it is exactly 4K but being a beginner myself, it works just fine

Dude, it's an 8.8 lb lump of iron, painted silver. In the hands of my 13 year old son. What could possibly go wrong?<br /><br />After a few weeks of throwing, the painted finish is fairly scuffed -- turns out that tossing in sand is fine, but dirt tends to scuff the paint. And the "4K" sticker is effectively gone. He enjoys throwing it; I enjoy throwing it. I would buy it again.<br /><br />-Rob

Shot put was scratched so bad that the the interior of the shot put could be seen. There was a "made in india" sticker that I couldn't peel off without leaving a gross sticky residue. There was some sticky area already on the shot as if someone had already peeled off some kind of a sicker. The shot put finish/paint was not smooth and had (along with the bigger scratches) minor scrapes which I was not happy with
