Mission: Founded in 1964, Portland Opera is an anchor in the arts and cultural ecosystem of Oregon and SW Washington, offering public programming, educational tours, emerging artists programs, and more.

Portland Opera's vision, mission, and values are intended as adaptive action statements. They were adopted by the staff of Portland Opera in December 2020; and by the Portland Opera Board of Directors in February 2021.

Portland Opera is a 501(c)(3) organization, with an IRS ruling year of 1965, and donations are tax-deductible.
