To stay cool in intense sun and forego wearing a sweaty hat, this umbrella is ideal. I have been using this umbrella for close to a year. The size is great, and the long shaft allows it to be cradled with one???s wrist and forearm while walking (like carrying a rifle or flag). I could not be happier with this purchase. It also seems to be holding up to usage, but I am careful with it. Will get a second as backupcan???t imagine being without it should I somehow lose it.

I love this umbrella. I use it for rain, of course, but mostly to keep the blazing Florida sun off me while waiting for school bus pick up. It's huge, a little heavier than a normal size umbrella. It serves the purpose.

Out in the sun on a hot day this thing creates its own little biosphere that's noticeably cooler than the surrounding area.

This is the biggest dang umbrella I've ever seen! I got it cause I'm pail as a ghost and don't want skin cancer. I'm guessing this will protect me... If I can carry it.

Needed this for the 4th of July Parade here in Kailua, Oahu, HI. I stayed cool and even if the breeze was a bit stiff occasionally, it didn't turn inside out.

Exactly the size I've been looking for. I love the color too. Very affordable. Unfortunately it does not seem to stay in a locked open position very well. It's collapsed four times before we made it to the end of the block and it wasn't even really raining or months wind. Would probably do good sitting propped on a cart or the beach to protect from sun it's not being moved about. Still have all the packaging, will take another lap around the block before I decide if it needs to be returned.

As an educator, I go to the playground a lot during the week, and this umbrella was a life saver. I used it for the sun protection as well as wind protection. It was 10-15 degrees cooler under this umbrella during those hot afternoons. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone who goes outside for any length of time. The size is large which I loved, but might be harder for people walking on crowded streets -- so I would recommend the next smaller size for that environment.

I would???ve given it a 5 star rating but the threads broke from one of the spokes after only using it twice, so now I have to re-sew it on in order for me to actually use it again. Actually if possible I would give it 3 1/2 stars rather than 3.
