I could not get good results following the given instructions. However, by lightly oiling the surfaces before adding the eggs, the eggs were released easily and cleanly with no spattering inside the poacher.

Works as advertised. not that easy to clean as some egg white always sticks to the plastic, I will probably look for a non stick version. But this works good enough for the money, is dishwasher safe, and doesn't take up any counter space.

OK. I like soft boiled eggs about once a month and always buy jumbo eggs. Followed the directions exactly...1/2 teaspoon of water in bottom of each well, crack egg into water, another 1/2 teaspoon of water on top of each egg, pierce egg white and yolks several times. Cover and microwave 30 seconds per egg. Check every 15-30 seconds. SO...did that exactly. I know this is touted as a poached egg cooker, but thought it would be good to soft boil ones, too, and not burn my fingers when taking the egg out of the hot water and cracking open. Put 3 jumbo eggs in ...jumbo egg almost ran out of each well there is so much egg....started micro for 90 seconds. 20 seconds, a loud pop and one of the egg whites exploded and I'm lucky this cooker has a lid otherwise I'd have egg white all over the inside of my micro. Started micro again and checked at 60 seconds. Put back in micro to finish to 90 seconds. One egg was done perfectly (yolk sorta runny, white done). Other 2 eggs were still a little runny. Ran another 20 seconds in micro. Yum...not exactly like a soft boiled egg, but no burnt fingers. Cleaned in dishwasher. Be aware, a different size egg might cook a little sooner and I used a pointed steak knife to gently poke holes in whites and yolks per instructions. Tiny bit of water still in egg cup, but used a slotted spoon to get egg out of cup and into bowl to eat. Also, be aware of the egg white splatter. No sure if my micro is at the right level watts (700, 1000, 1200 etc). For the price, it's a good little egg cooker. Wonder if it would work to make a scrambled egg...???

I use mine all the time - quick and easy! I just bought one of these for my aunt - she has never had a poached egg. I have converted her! She uses every day! Awesome!

I've used it only 3 times. I followed the directions exactly my 2 poached eggs turned out perfectly every time. Both eggs were done the same. Some folks said each egg came out differently. I can't see how that's possible unless you use different amounts of water for each egg. (1/2 teaspoon)For $5.95 it's a bargain. There's nothing to complain about. I love it. Two poached eggs over toast in one minute, um, um. You'll love it too if you follow the simple directions.

I learned from an experienced user that for 4 eggs to cook to a perfect medium yolk takes only 90 seconds. Before poaching I did use cooking spray in the cups with a few drops of water and vinegar in the bottom and a few drops of water on top. I pricked the yolks and whites. Came out perfectly for muffin eggs Benedict sandwiches.

Instructions are good but you do have to tweak them to your liking. 2 jumbo eggs, pierced at 90 power and they were almost perfect, cooked for 1 minute. I just had to use a tiny bit less amount of water but they still came out well. This and a bacon cooker cut cooking time to a fraction of the stovetop and easy to clean.

I don't see how something designed to be microwaved would do this, but this melted the first time we used it. It is past the return date as I bought this for a small trip we took, so I guess we are just out of luck. Bummer!

I spray with Pam, use fork to puncture egg whites, cook 145 seconds first 45 on high then 60 and they come out perfect. Only a couple drops of water is necessary.

I was able to cook eggs in the microwave before, using a glass pie pan, but the egg remains stuck on the side of the glass dish were very hard to clean off. This time, I followed the Omelet Maker's instructions and used No spray or No oil or No butter. And when it was time to clean, the egg bits left after cooking with this item, came right off. Microwave convenience and super easy to clean. That's a winner in my mind.
