Mission: Protectors of animals' mission is to rescue cats and dogs and promote spay/neuter in our community.
Programs: Shelter - formed in 1975, protectors of animals, inc. (poa) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue. Poa is primarily a volunteer organization with a no-kill philosophy rescuing stray, abused and abandoned dogs and cats, while promoting spaying/neutering in the local community to reduce pet overpopulation. Poa also strives to educate the public on proper animal care and responsible companion animal ownership.
clinic - poaspay! Is a high-volume, low cost spay neuter clinic which opened in 2017 to support spay neuter needs in the greater hartford area. Poaspay! Also provides basic vaccinations and micro-chipping. Since opening, poaspay! Has helped neuter more than 5,000 animals thereby reducing cat and dog over population, abuse and abandonment.
