Smaller than I expected, but magnet worked fine, and it did the job. Couldn't find my hammer, after a move, so this was a great substitute.

I spent $9.63 on this, and oh boy, was it worth it. I have used it for various projects with upholstery nails/ tacks... nailing them into the facing of my sink ( picture attached) onto molding, onto large mirrored frames for accents, nailing them onto doors, etc., It has prevented me from wasting tacks by either bending them or making marks on them on my various projects...I bought the smallest size, and it was definitely worth less than ten bucks!!!

I ordered this for a craft project and needed a natural light wooden handle. The handle is solid black.

First of all I would like to say that I am harder on a framing hammer than most residential framers. I build commercial post frame buildings and I'm not lucky enough to be able to use 8's and 16's. Usually I'm banging 20d 40d and 60d ringshanks. The 34;strike plate34; that it shows in the picture is not what comes on the hammer. The picture shows it to be bolted from front to back and the one that came on my hammer was just 2 cheap rivets through the side. Needless to say after missing a couple nails the rivets. Snapped and the strike plate fell off. I threw some bolts in it and cranked it all tight and the hammer has been great since. The hammer is balanced very well but does feel a little heavier than a 22oz. The grain orientation in my handle is about 75 degrees so I either got very lucky or they are actually sending good quality handles. The handle is obviously hand shaped as they are very close but not quite symmetrical they even went as far as to give it a slight fawns foot which is very nice. The head is seated very well on the handle and you can tell care was taken to make sure it had a good tight fit. Overall this has been an excellent hammer so far, just wish they would fasten the strike plate to the hammer better from the factory.

This hammer is perfect for tacking down nailhead trim. I purchased this tool for a homemade tufted headboard and the results were beautiful! It is lightweight and doesn't damage the nailheads.
