Spend a little more and get a quality sounding speaker. I don't know how to explain it but they sound like paper or cardboard rattling. They have a decent high frequency sound quality but I expected better mids and mid-low out of them. I used them as a mid in a three way speaker cab with a 2 inch, this 5 inch and a 12 inch. I used an electro mavin 3-way crossover in them. I also don't recommend that crossover ether.

Bought these because the Legacy LM57 5.2534; 120 Watt Carbon Injected Midrange Speakers were not available. Used the LM57s to replace blown speakers in Optimus PRO X77 previously. I use these for my rear channels in a surround sound system. The PDMR5 do not sound anywhere near as nice as the LM57 speakers. The base end and the mid range all sound inferior. I repaired two X77 with the LPDMR5 really as backup in case I have another failure; however once the LM57s become available again I will buy them.

Perfect replacement for JBL L2200 midrange which is no longer available.

I bought 2 of these while trying to Frankenstein out my old Fisher xp65s speakers. The mid ranges weren't terrible, but Fisher speakers, I had read, seem to have hollow, almost dampened sound as per the recommendations of the designer of this brand of 34;bourgeois34; speakers, as they are often cited. So when I added these in with little trouble, I was ecstatic to hear highs and warm lows that I had been missing before. They are really excellent mid ranges for such a low cost, and with 200 watts, I'll never need that, but why not! Sounds so warm, almost like a cuddle on a slow, wakeful morning, in your lover's arms, fondled and caressed by such ebullient and lovely sound, it speaks to the soul. Some of the best money I have ever spent.
