We bought a set of these to add to the back of our boat. The other speakers we have are in the boat and to hear them when you're in the water you have to blare them. That's okay but if you're in the boat you can't talk to someone in the water and vice versa. We added these little babies and that's no longer a problem. Plus it's nice when other boats around are blaring music we don't want our little one hearing. The speakers are pretty good. The look really nice and have good sound to them. The only knock on them is that they do distort with higher volume where the speakers in the boat do not. They're a little smaller though and we don't turn them up like that normally but that's why I gave them four stars instead of five. I was a little concerned when I first ran the wiring and hooked them up to test them. They didn't sound like they had any bass at all but now that they're mounted in the boat, they sound much richer. To mount them, I cut two holes using a 4.2534; hole saw. You'd probably be safe using a 4.534; but since I was cutting two big holes in our boat, I thought I'd play it safe and go with the smaller saw. I did have to do some filing to get them seated in there properly but it wasn't a big deal. Then of course I drilled pilot holes for the mounting screws. A little marine sealant around the outer edge and there you have it. We've been out a few times with them now and we love them. It's so much nicer having those speakers on the back. They are exposed to the elements while it's in storage and of course they get water on them at the lake, but we haven't had any issues there either. The way we look at it, even if they only last a year or two the cost is low enough we could buy new ones and not sweat it. I don't think that'll be a problem though.
