Quality tap, had to use this in alloy steel as well as cast iron, performed well in both materials.

I bought these to clean up existing threads and they're excellent. I've been running them in and out with a small 12 volt impact driver. I have not used them to thread a hole, but they seem pretty durable. Definitely a step or ten up from the cheapo Harbor Freight tap and die set I've been using.

I used these to prep a new steel bicycle frame derailleur nut. Because the paint was in the threads, I could not properly screw on the derailleur. I used the more blunt one first, as I had already crossed the threads with repeated failed attempts, then I proceed to use the sharper one for a final cleanup. Very effective! Derailleur screwed right in afterwards.

I bought this set to clear out the threads on my 3D printer. The threads that mount the nozzle in the hotend of my Ender3 printer. The threads get clogged with filament sometimes. This was the only way to get a bottom tap in this Metric size.

As you can see from the pictures, what I received is not what is advertised. The description says set of 3, and lists the styles, one of which is a bottom tap. I've seen other reviews for Drill America taps now that also have received the wrong taps. Buyer beware!
