Saw another review stating it was a bit bigger than 1”. I actually couldn't find my 1” socket but my 1 1/8” worked just fine. The longest part of the job was taking the wheel off and putting it back on. Saved me a ton of time vs taking the wheel hub off and fighting to get the old bolt out. Luckily only the beginning of my bolt was crossed threaded, but for $20 I'd still try this first even if it was worse.

I bought this to clean up the wheel stud threads on a Porsche 944 after a broken lug nut marred the threads. The tool arrived promptly and worked as advertised, cutting very clean M14 x1.5 threads which the new lug nut went on to without any issue. The size of the tool is pretty large, bigger than any metric socket I had (larger than 24 mm, maybe 26 or 27mm?) but after starting it with my fingers, a decent adjustable wrench grabbed it no problem. This may be a rarely used tool, but man, it cost about the same as a new wheel stud and prevented me from having to remove the hub. Life is good!

Worked great cutting any extra 2 of thread, to the ends of my sway bar endinks. Used some cutting oil and an adjustable wreck, and it cut like butter
