It is not precise or made from quality material. Looks more like a plug tap with a flute thread. The m5 tap broke on an aluminum extrusion that was pre-drilled with 4.2mm holes. Additionally, the hole was plug tapped and cleaned prior to using the flute. Yes I know how to tap correctly, it worked on about a dozen or so profiles before breaking.

tap would not cut... it would bind up half way. used a old corbon tap. tapping a 1891 argentine

The item shown in the picture has the shank of the tap the same as the minor diameter. The one received has the shank of the tap the same as the major diameter. In most cases this wouldn't matter, it does matter for the entire reason I purchased this product over the others available. Showing the picture of an entirely different tool is not acceptable.

Bought this tap to thread holes in a cast iron transmission pan on an old tractor. It cut the iron no problem. Did 8 holes and was still cutting the threads well. Very happy. I used a size F drill bit and then tapped the holes with this. Nice tool.

Used to clean a really nasty block and worked great used some pb blaster to free up the rust ran the tap then flipped the block upside down sprayed out with break clean and bolts went in like butter. good value i really dident wanna spend the 65 bucks for the arp im sure its great but this worked well

I bought this to tap 4 holes into 1/8 thick steel. I drilled the hole on a drill press and started the threads of each hole with this tap in the drill press chuck rotated by hand. Finished the threads off by hand. This worked flawlessly. Use cutting oil, back out 1/4 turn whenever you meet resistance an it works great.
