As you can see in the photos the tap exploded on the fourth hole. I should have ordered the taper tap like the picture shows, but I mistakenly ordered a plug tap and it failed. It's a 4 flute design, and it's the first tap I ever broke out of hundreds of tapped holes over the years.

I bought this to tap 4 holes into 1/8 thick steel. I drilled the hole on a drill press and started the threads of each hole with this tap in the drill press chuck rotated by hand. Finished the threads off by hand. This worked flawlessly. Use cutting oil, back out 1/4 turn whenever you meet resistance an it works great.

This tap worked for me. Had to redo a cross threaded bolt hole on my Harley. Just took it slow with plenty of oil, and after a few turns I was able to restore the threads. Just take your time.

The (6 pack) is actually a (1 pack). The only discernible difference between the (6 pack) and the one marked individually is that the single took 3 days to o arrive and the (6 pack) took 2 months.

As a gunsmith I deal with many abused platforms. This tap works wonders for chasing 6-40 screws like scope rings and small trigger group screw holes. Ordered and it showed up as promised.

I used the tap in mild cool rolled steel, and it didnt break. not sure what else there is to review about a tap but thats what ive got

It broke like plastic, I brought the Irwin brand and I finish my project like nothing, so don't waste your time with this cheap tap.

Had to retap a hole on my bugout because the screws kept falling out. Fixed the problem and still working great. A must have for the EDC guy/gal in your life.

I was in a hurry so I couldn't get the right tool, I ended up welding a socket onto this tool. I read some reviews and I was a little worried but this worked perfectly and I experienced no issues for my application. I used this to clear the rust out of the threads in the back of my car which is where you attach a trailer hitch. I used penetrating oil two days before the attempt and brake cleaner as a lubricant. I read about another guy who had a hard time with this, I wonder if he used any oils before hand or just tried to run it dry. In my case everything worked great.

Used to rethread a stripped out combine hub bolt hole. Worked perfectly-was very sharp and new bolt went back in as it should.
