Did not come w/ DVD as advertised. Otherwise, it's a fantastic core-strengthening tool, and will help tremendously with skiing this winter.

The product itself is a wonderful exercise tool, usable in a whole range of ways, and well-made. The accompanying booklets and DVDs are also excellent. My only quibble is that the pump that is included is worthless, and therefore if you buy one you should plan on finding an alternate means of inflation.

When I sprained my knee a couple years ago I spent about 6 weeks in physical therapy trying to get my stability back. As a Marine bad knees can kill a career, so after being restored to full duty I wanted to implement the exercises my physical therapist had me doing into my regular workout to try to prevent future problems. A BOSU balance trainer was something I had never used before this injury, and it was one of the first things I went looking for when I was done with physical therapy. This BOSU is just like the one I used at the PT clinic, and being 6'3" and 230lbs I made sure I was getting something that would hold up to my weight. Because of my deployments and duty station transfers, this BOSU has spent 2 cold winters and 1 hot summer deflated in storage, and everytime it has pumped back up and been ready for use without any problems. The pump that comes with it is good enough to inflate the BOSU, but it's cheap and instead of keeping it to use only a couple times a year I threw it away and use my bicycle pump instead.

Just received this product. In answer to the posted question, it measures 63.5 cm across, measuring across the round part, not the handles, so it must be the larger 65 cm version. The product description could be improved.

The BOSU Pro Basic is exactly like the one that I use at my gym. It's extremely heavy duty. Accompanying booklet has a lot of very good suggestions, recommendations, and guidelines for care and getting the most out of it.The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that the pump that comes with it does not inflate to capacity -- it falls short about 2 inches from what the height should be. If they can't include a decent pump then they should not include one at all. Otherwise, this is an excellent piece of equipment to exercise at home with as well as work on balancing skills and coordination. My fitness trainer has shown me a lot more and a lot better exercises than are shown in the accompanying booklet. I would highly recommend this BOSU balance trainer but suggest making sure you have a pump that can fill it to capacity.

Easy to set up and is a good exercise for improving balance. I had used one at my health club and decided to purchase one for home exercize also. Good decision.Grandchildren really love it and their balance is much better than mine!

Unsure how the quality of this item will be compared to the home unit since I've only had it a little over a month. I purchased this one since the home version developed three separate leaks over the few years that I owned. I'm hoping this is better made and will not develop holes for no apparent reason.

Can someone confirm whether this version is the 65cm one, or if it is the smaller 55cm version? Thanks.

I purchased a BOSU a month ago and am really getting a good workout both in balance and in strength--by placing the blue side on the floor and doing a plank while holding onto the base.Anyway, I didn't realize it shouldn't be placed in sunlight or near heat registers and today, while sitting in the sun, the blue "half ball" came apart from the base. Couldn't find any repair instructions at the BOSU site or online. But--I looked over the base carefully and found a screw in each handle. To repair--unscrew the screw in each handle and the BOSU's rim will come apart from the base in two pieces. Then completely deflate the blue half ball. At that point, line up the edges of the half ball (which look like a fork-crimped pie crust edge) with the edge of the base (according to the indentations of the base that remain on the ball). Replace the screw on one of the handles and tighten enough so it holds the two halves of the rim together--but don't tighten completely. Then, kind of like replacing a bicycle tire, fit the edge of the ball and the edge of the base into the rim and put the rim around the edges of the ball and base together. Screw the second screw into the other handle and tighten--the rim won't meet if you don't have the edges of the ball and base together and inside the rim. When the rim meets, tighten the screw on each handle. Re-inflate the BOSU and you're good to go!

This is a must have for any gym. Using it really ramps up your workout. By having to stabilize yourself while on it, you use more muscles, thereby burning more calories. Love it!!

The Bosu was recommended to me by my chiropractor due to balance issues I have. I tried a couple other products prior to using this one and there is no comparison. The Bosu is challenging but the fun factor is definitely there. I watch tv while doing my balance exercises and the time passes quickly. Since you can turn the item over, you get two different types of balance exercises and you definitely can tell after you're done that you've used some core muscles you weren't using before. The abdominal exercises are definitely a challenge also. It has surely helped me with my balance problems. Give it a try!

excellent piece of exercise equipment, however it leaks a bit and has to be reinflated every several weeks

The Bosu Unit gives you a great workout. It shows you how to workout at all levels, how to vary the exercise and how to make it fun. I highly recommend this trainer for a good at home and with friends. Well worth the money!

This is a terrific piece of fitness gear and has an wonderful workout DVD included. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is the price. This is the cheapest I could find anywhere but let's get real: It's half an exercise ball mounted on a flat platform.
