Mission: RAPTOR Inc. is dedicated to the conservation of birds of prey via rehabilitation, education, research, and community service. RAPTOR Inc. is a 501(c)3 organization with the proper state and federal permits and facilities required to treat these birds. The organization also cares for several permanent resident birds that serve as educational ambassadors for their wild counterparts. There are over 20 different bird of prey species indigenous to Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky. These include owls, hawks, falcons, eagles, osprey, harriers, kites and vultures. Birds of prey are vital for a healthy environment. They provide many ecological services, such as controlling pest species, removing disease-causing pathogens from the environment by scavenging on carrion, and serving as indicators of environmental contamination.

Target demographics: RAPTOR Inc. works to preserve and protect birds of prey and their habitat, and to form meaningful connections between people and wildlife.

Direct beneficiaries per year: Each year RAPTOR Inc. treats over 300 injured birds of prey at our Milford, Ohio facility and returns over 60% of them back to the wild (significantly higher than the national average. ) We also reach over 20,000 people annually with our educational programs.

Programs: RAPTOR Inc. volunteers present over 350 educational programs at schools, libraries, scout meetings, parks, senior centers, and similar venues using LIVE birds of prey. A personal encounter with a live raptor is powerful, and impresses upon people the importance of taking action to protect our environment.
