Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals

Mission: Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and facilitate the adoption of neglected and abused horses in New Mexico and surrounding states. First and foremost, we are dedicated to providing a safe, healthy environment for rescued horses and we follow the AAEP (American Association of Equine Practitioners) care guidelines for Equine Rescue and Retirement Facilities. Our goal is to rehabilitate horses to be adopted to well-screened homes, where they can, once again, serve a useful purpose.

Results: Being a very small facility, we are proud to have helped over 185 horses that have come through our facility and many, many more to stay in their homes through education since November of 2011.

Target demographics: Rehabilitate Starved, Neglected, Abandoned, and unwanted horses so they may have a second chance in life.

Direct beneficiaries per year: we help horses escape abuse, neglect and starvation. We work to get them healthy, and find forever loving homes.

Geographic areas served: Roswell NM

Programs: Volunteer opportunities in which our volunteers (young and older) learn to care for, feed, handle, ride, and learn the basics of training a horse. We also try to educate the public in the proper care and feeding of horses.
