Mission: Raphael House of Portland has helped domestic violence survivors and their families find safety, hope, and independence since 1977. Our confidential emergency shelter provides a safe haven to adults and children of all gender identities fleeing intimate partner violence, and we proudly offer ongoing and personalized support designed to help them achieve permanent housing, employment, and self-sufficiency. In addition, our Domestic Violence Recovery Mentors serve survivors County-wide who are struggling with addiction, and our Healthcare Advocate stationed at OHSU's Richmond Clinic offers confidential advocacy to patients and is helping healthcare providers better respond to domestic violence. We also work tirelessly to break the cycle of violence through prevention education training in local schools and with healthcare providers, businesses, and groups. Each year our many programs serve more than 5,000 survivors and community members. (Less)
