Causes: Human Services

Mission: To influence the lives of children, the underserved, and community through astronomy and volunteer projects, positively impacting the course of history for generations to come.

Results: Children are the main focus of Reach For The Stars Programs because they are the future. If you change the course of their life, you change history. Each child's story is unique. Some have disabilities, others are facing extreme depression while some are just simply interested in Space. Stargazers range from 5-18 years old and 98% are from underrepresented minority groups. Stargazers in the Reach For The Stars program overcome anxiety, sorrow, suicidal tendencies and have gone onto feeling inspired, confident and empowered through stargazing. They are taught STEM, learn careers, and receive vital volunteer skills in the homeless outreach and food pantry projects. In the last year we have served 91 Stargazers, with 1:1 lessons, had 53 Free Stargazing Educational Events, influencing over 2,500 individuals withing the community, helping to reduce anxiety in local youth with anxiety.
