These are great for slamming on the ground I have them for my track athletes and weve broken a few medicine balls this season because they were not meant to be continually thrown onto the ground The kids like these; theyre grippy and dont bounce at all However you can tell there is a sand or gel substance that moves in them because if you shake it you can feel it move around I like this because it makes the ball a little unstable on the throw some people dont like that Just a heads up but if youre worried about wear and tear this is the ball for you

Im 70 yrs old and use the 30 pound ball for slamming on the floor and other exercises Works great Work outs are quick and easy My wife wants one now She hates the fact that when I hold out my arms that theres no skin or flab hanging from them

I havent smashed much with it yet because I dont have a lot of good surfaces for it- I should have thought about that before purchasing- BUT I love it as a medicine ball and as a handwrist-friendly substitute for a kettlebell for two-handed exercises like the swing goblet squat or row I plan on buying a heavier one soon and finding somewhere I can actually slam them
