Mission: The Retina Foundation of the Southwest (RFSW), founded in 1975, has grown into one of the leading independent vision research centers in the United States, with a staff dedicated to understanding the causes of eye conditions and investigating potential treatments for infants, children and adults. The mission of the Retina Foundation is to prevent vision loss and restore sight through innovative research and treatment. Our research scientists are on the cutting edge of technology to understand the intricacy of retinal function and conduct studies for pediatric eye conditions, inherited eye diseases, and age-related macular degeneration. The Foundation is currently participating in more than 60 clinical research studies and providing more than 2,000 vision assessments each year completely free of charge.  (Less)
