When traveling by train, we often had to leave our luggage in a rack behind where I was going to sit. I didn't like turning my back on our bags, so I bought this lock and used it to either lock our two suitcase handles together (too awkward for a thief to rush away with) or to a nearby rail. Sure, someone could cut the cable or smash the mechanism, but thieves do not bring the right tools; they prefer a quick grab and run. The combination lock mechanism is easy to both secure and unlock. The only con is that it feels delicate, as though it would not be durable, but it is actually quite strong. I leave the lock on the handle on my backpack for quick access when needed.

I bought this for the times you need to Tire carry on to a another suitcase or to a backpack. It keeps things together like when you check in early and they watch your bags for you. I love its flexibility to go around several bags if they're back to back with each other. Another sense of security.

I specifically purchased this because of our trip to Greece where we will be traveling via ferries. Luggages are just left on the lower level and can be mistakenly picked up. I strapped both our luggages together with this lock so whoever would mistakenly pick up our luggage will think twice upon realizing that its strapped together.

This lock is easy to use, and the extendable cable will allow you to use it in different situations. I like these locks for traveling and also if I leave some thing in my car that I don't want stolen in a smash Dash and Dash grab I like it.

It's great for locking many zippers together on a travel backpack. I am using it now traveling in South America. But I only have 'carry on' when flying so really do not how well it would holdup when baggage is checked in. The cable is long enough to go through six zipper tabs, but I, also, wonder how long the retractability of the cord will last. But so far, it seems worth the money. (Just in case, I have another cable and locks I used before with me. It takes time to prove the durability of most things we buy.
