It works. Need to wire it up. Great guidance given in a review. Another bit of info I found, if your ac has a dual run capacitor it will most likely be a 3 wire motor. This motor has 5 wires, but 2 of the wires are used for clockwise or counterclockwise rotation.

My husband determined that it was the compressor in our AC that needed to be replaced. Our AC unit is a 1996 Ruud model UAKA - 042JAZ and we were told by the AC guy 10 years ago that we have a very good unit and as long as we keep up the maintenance, our unit was “a tank” We got the unit on Friday, and my husband replaced the compressor on Saturday morning and within a couple of hours, we had blissful cool air flowing upstairs. My husband took photos before removing the old unit and just connected the new one using the photos of the wires connected. He said the most time consuming thing was removing the old fan blade.

To remove fan from old motor, wire wheeled exposed old shaft to remove rust, sprayed some WD40 and tapped fan off old shaft. Reversed bolts on new motor, replaced fan and unit bolted onto grill no problems at all. Got the rotation wrong and swapped 2 wires (purple and brown?) Works great!

Easy to install! Made a word of difference. Was told by ab HVAC technician my fan sounded horrible. Replaced with this motor and wow! Night and day difference! No longer hear my fan motor over the compressor. Very quiet now!!

Works food spins the correct way clearer wiring instructions would be appreciated like tie the yellow and brown wires together or the other colors can't remember all the colors now but tie these 2 together to spin clockwise or tie these 2 wires together to spin counter clockwise once figured out its great value on a great product thank you for having it available

Had this motor for my almost 30 year old rheem 3 ton heat pump because I knew one day I'd need it, so I had it a couple years already and poof I needed it this week at midnight.I installed it at night when it finally quit running and I just ordered another back up motor because I see some reviews aren't very good on longevity. It was my first HVAC condenser motor replace on the roof of my house so I strapped on my head light and pulled the panel and brought it down under my patio to swap motors.I already did exhaustive research on the wire hook up from factory 3 wire to the universal 5 wire and it was easy, also my capacitor was already rated what the motor required and was almost new and metered within specs.I bought a under 50 dollar fan puller and glad I did that had set screws pinch the shaft flange and it came right off. Most important part was to find a place to measure the fan blade distance from the fan cover/mount to the blades and not worry about where it sits on the shaft because the new motors most likely have a longer shaft plus I was worried about the shaft size but got lucky it was all 1/2”I tested the fan operation before I buttoned up and tied the wires up and she blew much more air than the original motor blew for years so the AC compressor and system is loving life much better now.Don't forget to pull the rubber drain plug out before you install the cover back on so you don't kill the motor with moisture not getting out

This is for a Rheem Condenser unit. The plate is worn off so I can't read the model number. The old fan that I replaced was aEmerson model KA55HXEMP-890HP = 1/6RPM = 1075208-230 VoltAir Over CONT Frame 48YThermally protectedPT NO 51-21826-01Had to reverse the bolts on the motor so the threads were sticking out from above and I could hang it from the top of the condenser cage. The trick to getting the fan blade off the motor shaft without a puller is to take out the retaining set screw and spray the screw hole with penetrating oil. Then take a punch and put it on the inner ring of the fan were the metal is strong and pound it down with a hammer about an 1/8. Then sand the rust off the shaft with emery cloth. Then hold the shaft from turning with channel locks and rotate the fan blades to break it loose. Then work the fan off the shaft. I verified using a sheet of paper that the fan was pulling air down from the top to confirm that I got the fan rotation direction correct. The direction is reversible. I cable tied all the wires into place. I probably should have changed the starting capacitor but did not. The new fan is nice and quite and works great.
