Mission: Serve rhode island's network of community action agencies through training, and technical assistance, public education, capacity building, and for the development of public policy to address the impact of poverty in our state.

Programs: Community service block grant - to provide assistance to states and local communities, working through a network of community action agencies and other neighborhood-based organizations, for the reduction of poverty, revitalization of low-income communities, and empowerment of low-income families and individuals in rural and urban areas to become fully self-sufficient.

noh grant - to provide housing for pregnant and parenting female teens who cannot live at home with their families.

temporary assistance for needy families - tanf programs to assist needy families with children so that children can be cared for in their own homes; to reduce dependency by promoting job preparation, work, and marriage; to reduce and prevent out-of-wedlock pregnancies; and to encourage the formation and maintenance of two-parent families.

ocs: legal training and technical assistance - to support enhanced state, regional and national t/ta to strengthen and expand the capacity and ability of community action agencies to deal with legal issues, especially those dealing with the financial management and governance of their agencies funded under csbg. Eitc - a tax benefit for working people who earn low-to-mederate income, especially those with children.
