Great drum! Good size for an 8-9 month old. I purchased this because my daughter is used to banging on one in music class. She loves it! I put away the drumsticks for safety purposes, but other than that, this is a great to purchase as a gift as well.

Just love this percussion drum and the beautiful designs on it. The drum sound is not loud but one that you could listen to over and over again.<br />Can't wait to give it to my two-year old granddaughter for her birthday. One thing I know, her parents will be very happy that she didn't receive a typical drum set that would drive them crazy. This floor drum is perfect for everyone to use and enjoy for years. Thanks so much for a great product. Highly recommended for all ages!

Our grand twins love this ! We also bought the bongos. I personally thought the mallets were too long, but only because the children are young. I put them away for another time and had custom made sticks by Bluehausmallets on etsy. Now I feel better. Very nicely made and good tones!

Great, sturdy good sounding drum. Our toddler has been giving it a beating for 4 months now and it's still in great shape. Could do without the plastic drum stick, but I picked up a pair of real drum sticks at a thrift store and he can make some real noise with them! Also sounds great as a hand drum. Our musical little dude is very happy with it.

I didn't know which one to buy and went with the cheaper "rhythm kids" drum. With that one you get one drum "stick" and the drum sound is not good, so I bought the other one. With the more expensive "rain forest" (taller and more expensive) drum you get 2 mallets and the drum sound is much richer; there is really no comparison. As an adult I enjoy playing the rain forest one but would never play the cheap sounding rhythm kids drum. The difference isn't only the mallet instead of the stick, the drum head is a far superior quality. I want to buy other remo kids drums but am afraid I would just get the tinny sounding drum head. The 5 star is for the rainforest only, rhythm kids gets 3 stars.

Was a very successful present. Grandson loves it and can now play his own drum rather than Dad's . A good quality childrens drum.

Bought this for my older child then she was about 1. She's now 4 and still loves it. It's been a soup pot for pretend play almost as often as it's been a drum. It also stores most of her other instruments when not in use.<br /><br />Today I introduced it to my 5-month old and it captured his attention for 30 minutes straight. He only stop out of sheer exhaustion to get some sleep.
