Our baby is 8 months old. I bought this for him at 7.5 months. He would have loved it at 6 months just as much as he loves it now! This is the best "toy" purchase I've made for him at this stage.<br />I would recommend this for any baby or toddler from 6 months to probably 3 years old. I bet even up to 5 would love it. He'll, this is a "real" drum, so even all ages would like it, if they like drums.<br /><br />If you are worried about the red things on the end of drumstick, I don't know what to say other than they are secure as heck on our stick and I'm not worried about him choking on it.<br />This is a solid purchase and I would gladly buy again for a gift!

This is one of my favorite purchases this holiday season. After a month's use, I have come to love the deep thumping sound. The quality of the drum is amazing. The colors are vibrant, and I even like the two padded drumsticks it came with. Our 22 month old, 42 month old, and 5 year old absolutely love it.

Nice loud sound and good construction. Built to last a long time and the kids like it. The downside is that I THOUGHT it would have a deeper tone. I also bought a Remo Gathering Drum with I LOVE, no ifs ands or buts. This Tom Drum sounds sort of bongo drumish. It does not have a deep, resonating tone at all. If you're looking for something with a basser sound, buy a bigger drum.

My husband and I purchased this drum for our 3 year old daughter for Christmas and it is a huge hit!! She has a wonderful time playing her drum and loves to dance and march around while Daddy plays for her. This is a high quality drum with excellent sound.

My kids are one and 7 and they both love this drum. We've only had it for a couple of weeks, but it's been played hard by my kids and other kids and we haven't had any problems with it. Check the dimensions, because it's a significant size and you'll want to make sure you have a space for it.

This is an excellent, high-quality, beautiful sounding kids' drum. We used many drums of various sizes by this maker in toddler/preschooler music classes. They survive class after class of 2-year-olds beating on them! We bought one for my preschooler for Christmas and it really is worth it. The deep sound means that it doesn't grate on your nerves the way other smaller/cheaper drums do. Highly recommended.
