The look and feel real nice, but for the price I paid for them I would have liked more sturdy wood. I have 3 large dogs which are trained, but if they bump it while playing it easily topples over or the gate opens.

I've been using this gate for about 6 weeks now to keep my 60ish lb dog upstairs. The gate is only rated for a small dog, so my girl could easily push it out of the way if desired. Please don't tell her lol!The gate looks great, is a little wobbly but not so it causes issues, and the door is very handy.For convenience, the door can be locked open as needed by opening it all the way in either direction.The thing I like most about the door is after I go thru it, I just gently swing it shut behind me and it latches on its own.I like the swinging ends too. I have one side propped against the wall to the right of the stairway to close that end off, and the other side is opened farther, proper against a little table so our cat can make a clean escape underneath the table and down the stairs when she wants to.This gate is super versatile. I'd been looking for it for at least a year.My only suggestion would be a latch system to open the door rather than having to lift the door, that could still enable swinging shut behind. Doesn't seem like it would be that difficult to do.New addition: I've owned this gate for about 8 months now. No problems. I'm as happy with it as the day I got it. We do try to be a little gentle with it, and rarely do we have any need to move it around. It just stays in place and opens and closes many times a day.

This gate works really well in our family as the gate is high enough to keep our little dog on the right side of it. I love how sturdy is and how easy it is to open the gate. Generally the gate closes by its self which I also like. My cats can jump it and it stays standing if they actually touch it when going over.

We just got a puppy, and needed a gate to move around the house. Leaves no marks on walls free standing, very useful, adjusting sizes to fits hallways, divider between rooms. Very stable automatic closing gate. Description was spot on.

I like the quality and sturdiness of this gate. I have two active medium size dogs (corgi). They love to run down the stairs when someone rings the bell. One of them actually had to go through surgery for a slipped disc :( To prevent them from running up and down the stairs, I have to buy this gate. It serves its purpose, I feel much safer when someone rings the doorbell, it's easy to open and close.

We had been using child gates which we had to step over on stairs and around the house. Bought a couple of these to keep the dogs where they belong and every time we walk though them we say, Well this was a good idea!. Highly recommend.

I bought 3 of these and they are all falling apart after just 3 months. They weren't heavily trafficked either and my dogs are small pups.These things are flimsy and the latch mechanism is also a problem. My beagle puppies figured out how to open them in a few weeks.

Bought this for use with small breed dogs. The gate tension works for them but I wouldn't trust it with a determined medium size breed. The set up is pretty straight forward, but you will need to re-tighten the legs periodically. My biggest gripe is that when I'm not using it, the legs that support it from falling over don't fold out of the way so it can't be stowed easily (leaned against a wall or slid into a closet). Also, the hinges only allow the panels to adjust in one direction; It can be used with the panels forming a straight line or a “U” shape but the panels won't move in the other direction, more like a “Z” if that matters to you. Aesthetically it looks great and doesn't look cheap but keep in mind it's built more for staying in one place permanently than being used and stowed.

Returning as the closing pin mechanism was faulty, my dig easily pushed this gate right open with just a slight tap of her nose so safety is a concern. Hard to pick up and move around, doesn't fold for storage when not in use, and the bottom legs, although substantial, stuck out to the point where tripping becomes a problem.. nice wood color and the concept is nice, just not as well made as it should be considering the price. Also, manufacturer will not refund or replace item in full, only offers to send parts which you must install yourself.. a little hard for some of us to do. My issue with faultiness occurred with 3 weeks of purchase..

The look and flexibility of the gate are top notch. The first one worked so well with our now 85 pound Bernese puppy that I bought a second and will likely buy a third. If you carefully follow the setup instructions you shouldn't have a problem with opening and closing the gate. Don't expect it to deter a large dog who is determined to get through it but it works great with a dog trained to respect boundaries.

Works great for my Yorkies. Very well designed and perfect for a hallway or doorway where you don't want to drill mounting hardware into the walls or leave pressure marks from tension mounts. Sturdy and good looking. The gate latch requires (pleasantly) little effort and makes it easy to pass through even with your hands full, but if you have a big dog or one who pushes hard on barriers you can adjust the tension of the latch. Very satisfied. I'm ordering a second one for another area in my house.

I love this gate. I have two in my home and bought the third one for my daughter's house. I have a small dog that likes to escape and this prevents that.

Use this gate to keep my “counter surfing” dogs off the counter while I prepare food in the kitchen. I have coonhounds that love to scan the counter and steal or lick any food their mouths and tongues can reach. This gate has been worth every penny!!

This gate is placed in a 48” opening. I bought it because it was free standing and doesn't touch my sheet rock walls. The gate is good looking but the top latch does not latch. The bottom latch holds it but if a dog pushed against it it would open. Thank goodness I have a small dog that ignores the gate. It has adjustment to supposedly fix this but it does no good.

I bought this gate for the purpose of keeping my dog separate from a rescued timid cat that was recently added to my household. There have been mixed reviews posted about this gate but I have to report it has exceeded my expectations. The quality is very nice but the best part is how versatile it is. I can move this gate to different locations around my home and don't have to install anything. My dog respects the gate and it has allowed me to gradually increase the territory available for the cat to explore. My goal is that someday the 2 can share the same space but for now it is keeping the cat safe.

Have 3 and used them for years. If u read the directions they are easy to assemble and use. Durable and effective for small and medium sized dogs in my experience, don't know about large dogs. Worth the money.

Searched for months for a gate like this one and was excited when I found it but it arrived broken so much not be as sturdy as originally thought.

It broke already. Just two months later.
