After using this on over 100 jacks, I'll say it works pretty good and saved a lot of wear and tear on my hands.It does have some limitations though. It doesn't work very well at all on Cat6/Cat6a cable that has thicker insulation on the pairs (Vertical Cable Cat6 Plenum is a good example). It did a great job on other Cat6 cables from ICC, ABA, Digilink Global, Belden, Commscope.If the holes were bigger on the head it would probably work good on other cables as well. All in all it has saved time and my hands during termination and would recommend to others.

I'm an A/V / Network technician so when I have to sit behind a rack all day terminating RJ45 ends, the untwist tool always comes out! Especially on the days where I'm doing more than 30-50 terminations. I'm the type to set up my terminations like an assembly line, and with the untwist tool it speeds up the whole process. There is a learning curve, so to any reviewers saying it doesn't work..I would disregard that as someone who didn't take the time to learn how to use the tool properly. They even have videos showing how to properly use the tool. Really cool to see a new tool in our industry! Thanks Untwist tool!

I got my tool from Tech Tool Supply's website few days ago.I watched their YouTube videos and figured if it didn't work I could return it.Later on I saw them at the ISC West Trade Show in person.The tool does work really well and as someone who has blistered their hands untwisting cat6 cable, buy this and never look back!

A must have for a cable installer. I just did 700 drops at a new hospital construction., This this is amazing.

I started using this product when I started out doing AV. I've stripped cable before with different tools to help with straightening and typically I used my own hands.It took some time to getting used to since it's a new method but after that, it's smooth sailing!It helps out a bunch with the wire management prior to putting the cables into the RJ45 heads. Straightening also has never been efficiently quick and easier!

I've seen some people dismiss this tool immediately, but you have to practice and get to know how to use it. At first I was very frustrated and ready to throw it at the wall, instead I contacted Tech Tools asking for assistance. Brent contacted me the next day with a message, tips and video. After spending some time with many samples of cable from my stock, I'm getting better at untwisting. I expect more OTJ work will get better and better with untwisting and saving me time (making me money) I was impressed with the response from Tech Tool Supply so much, I placed an order for niche tools on their website. Brent comes from a cabling background and understands low voltage. I'll send an update after using the tool a few hundred times.After using the tool with several hundred cables, I find it indispensable. Not every pair will untwist to the base like the videos, but most will and those that don't are still untwisted enough that you just need to manually untwist one or two turns. Overall a time saver!

This tool makes terminating CAT 6 so much easier in tight spaces! Also, the leds on the driver help out a lot as many of my terminations are in darker areas like behind a cabinet or under a cubicle. Product was received next day and I was pleased to put it to use immediately.

After spending some time with it, I really like this tool.It is not as simple as their video makes it out to be.It took me doing about 30 wires until I figured it out.Once I had it, I fell in love with this tool.It makes a once tedious task quick and more importantly painless.

I had the first version of this tool and while it worked, certain aspects were irritating. Like the tool coming out. They fixed everything I hated about the old version. I am not crazy about the price increase, but it pays for itself over and over so I'm happy.

If you are doing patch panel work this is nice to have in your arsenal, saves time and your fingers with CAT6. It has a learning curve, much like terminating coaxial or STP it requires some technique and practice to use it well, don't expect magic on first try.

I seen all the good reviews and watched the video and it looked sweet. I've been doing av for 20 yrs and after spending the stupid amount of money for this thing. I can say it's extremely difficult to use . U might get it to work like the video shows once out of the 4 pairs. The rest of time it will either catch and quickly over twist the wire or it will only catch the tips of wire and over twist them . They have a great idea here. The problem is the driver spins way to fast . I detached the head and installled it in a smaller cheaper and slower screwdriver and it works 80 better. So big problem fix on speed would get this device a 4 star rating from me. But for now as is we'll be generous and say 2 stars. If u can find a way to buy the head or insert , then buy a cheap tiny screwdriver , low speed is the ticket for now. If the company returns my email I can fix it for them. So after using this for a month I have got the hang of it and even with the issues this thing has I can honestly say it cuts the time in half and my fingers aren't near as sore. I used it today to terminate 130 cat 5 and 6 wires. So that's 520 pairs . I had one tech cutting insulation , me untwisting all wires and 2 techs punching down rack . Just keep practicing with it and you will love it at the end of the day. Thansk

Next month I will be working on a project with almost 900 runs and I am so glad a buddy of mine tagged me on one of the Low Voltage Facebook group posts. Even thought I was skeptical at first I decided to try it. Someone else said there is a learning curve, which is correct to certain extent but overall I love it!Honestly I wish I had this sooner. Battery holds up pretty good and I am impressed with the quality.

The tool does exactly what it says, it just takes a little practice to get it down but once you do it saves a ton of time especially if you're doing a lot of terminations.

I liked the instructions, short and simple. Worked for me on the second try. I won't put a cat 5 or cat 6 connector on with out it now. Saves time and fingers. Tool is well made. Tip: If you are doing a bundle of cat 5s put a string or old shoe lace around you neck in a loop and tape the ends to the tool so it can hang around your neck. You will want it that handy.

Very fast to untwist the pairs, helps to save your fingers tips! it does take a few times to know just how much pressure to put on the wires when inserting them into the tool. After about my 3rd wire, I had it down. I also liked the bright led lights on the front of the tool as sometimes I am in small darker spots working on repairs.

I was working a jobsite and was approached by the owner of this tool I hadn't seen before. I have been working low voltage for a while so I was skeptical when he said there was a faster way, but I waited to see. To my amazement he did indeed do it faster with this tool, proved me wrong.

Innovative idea. I'll use the groove the most.
