I wasn't sure this would be a good purchase but after learning how to use and adjust the tool I'm thrilled with its performance. Like the cable cutters I purchased at the same time, expensive but worth every cent.

This thing works great on most sizes of wire. I’ve been using it everyday for the past three weeks and no issues.

Finally a product that has clearly been engineered and tested properly.I always spent too much time, and had too many cuts into the cores, with other tools (including knives, pliers, even teeth!).This tool allows for precise cutting of the cable, fast and consistent. I can even remove the shielding in the middle of a cable, no effort. Just learn how to use the 90 degree twist function, it rocks!As there is no scale, or preset, when changing between various cable types, I am not always sure I reset it to the right depth. What I do is cut as close to the tip of the cable as I can. In case it does cut into the cores, it doesn't matter as they have to be cut anyway. Rather than, than having a too deep cut and then having to discard that length of cable.Great to work with this kind of product. I wish I had found it many years before.

This little tool is easy to setup and use. Excellent results time after time

This tool does a far better job than any other tool I've tried for stripping the insulated sheath of electrical cables. It has a small knife that protrudes an adjustable distance into the opening created by a clamp that forces the cable against the knife, which is adjusted to just barely penetrate the outer sheath without damaging the insulation on the wires within te cable. This adjustment can be frustrating, since the outr insulation varies in compressibility and thickness. Thus, several attempts may bre needed to find the correct adjustment. Once found, the use is simple and effective. Bu adjusting the angle of the blade, circumferential, longitudinal and spiral cuts may be easily made.If you are using it repeatedly on the same type of cable, it is a great tool. If each use is in a different type of cable, be aware that several attempts at adjustment may be needed before each cut. There are no markings to help you repeat an adjustment that worked last week. Each time a different cable is used is essentially the first time. If there were some way around this, it would easily be a 5-star tool.That said, it beats everything else I've tried, so I do recommend the tool.

I was very surprised, I did not expect it to be so awesome. Now it seems like I can't live without it! it strips the larger wires so easy!It really is easily the best out there!

This tool has been used almost daily since I purchased it. It works great for the cables that I encounter usually ranging from 4c 22awg (about 1/4) to 18c 18awg (about 1).It takes a little bit of practice to get the blade depth set right and it varies depending on the sheathing material. If the handle is twisted a tiny bit, it will tend to cut a tight spiral instead of a perfect circumference, but this usually isn't an issue. Making lateral cuts can be tricky when fighting the spring force, but on larger cables that isn't much of a problem.Overall, great time-saving tool and works great. If you plan on cutting the shielding with the sheathing, the blade life will diminish, so pick up a spare.

Was able to cut insulation of truck battery cables with ease.

A most valuable tool to have in your bag. Cuts virtually all the cable jackets that I've come across. I would rate this tool a bit higher in sturdiness but I've only been using it a couple of weeks. And I don't really like twisting the body to turn the blade but we'll have to see how long it lasts. I would also feel better if the body was metal instead of just plastic. But then I guess it might weigh heavier if it were metal. All in all, it seems worth the price paid.

Odd that it is spring loaded to the rip position. When use to strip you must hold the tool (against stiff spring pressure) at 90 degrees to the unloaded position. Very awkward to spin around the conductor while holding the blade perpendicular to the wire, especially for smaller (awg4 and up) flexible wire. Would have far preferred it to be sprung the other way. I'll likely keep using my knife unless ripping wire for recycling. Disappointing.UPDATE: Jonard customer service was very helpful. Found that the blade was not properly set in the detent. Simple fix. Tool is useful, but better for stiff wire than flexible, rubber-coated wire which is what I bought it for.
