Know exactly what you are replacing. It takes some work to reroute the pilot tubing and attach the unit to a new bracket

This was the Perfect replacement control valve for a old gravity furnance. The old control valve wouldn't keep the pilot light on. But after troubleshooting the problem, I decided to replace the control valve. In the process of the replacing the control valve, I also clean and adjust the other parts that connected to the pilot light assembly. It was not hard to replace. It work perfectly now.

This valve replaced an older one in a gas fireplace. However some changes were required to the connections. The old valve used two thermocouples, one for the pilot flame valve, and one for the main gas valve. This one eliminates the thermocouple for the pilot, and uses the one for the main gas valve to also maintain the pilot, via a jumper wire to the pilot flame valve. Also, the old valve used 1/8 inch gas tubing for the pilot flame whereas this valve uses 1/4 inch tubing . So a short piece of 1/4 inch tubing is needed along with a 1/8 to 1/4 adapter. The 1/8th tubing must be cut to connect the adapter. No changes were required for the main input and output gas lines. Also note this valve does not have a level control. One, available from Robertshaw, can be added.

Ordered to replace the old fireplace valve that didn't hold the pilot even after replacing the easy parts first. Finally, ordered and replaced this valve, and it worked.

I purchased this item, but it does not have the wire running from the thermopile connection to the terminal block. I cannot find anything to make the connection to the terminal block. It's pictured, so I assume it is just missing. I contacted the seller and they are sending a replacement. They are very responsive and easy to work with! Hopefully this fixes my issue. I believe it will. Highly recommend this product and purchasing from this seller!

This is a pathetic excuse for a gas valve. My old one lasted 25 years. This one lasted one winter. One spring morning I woke up to my furnace running away with itself while the gas valve was turned to pilot. DANGEROUS piece of crap!

I used it to add a wall thermostat to an old wall furnace. It works great, however you must replace the old thermocouple with a new thermopile. It was fairly easy to install and it works great.

Easy to install if you have the right tools and the courage to do this type of work. Careful: purchase and install only the exact same unit as the one you are replacing!
