Excellent replacement valve for my gas fireplace log set! The three output fitting options allowed me to install the valve in almost the exact location of the original non-Robertshaw valve. There was very little retrofit work required. The price was excellent as well - neatly $25 less than other options. I will definitely order another Robertshaw valve for future projects.

Worked great the first time it was fired up in my 1980's gas fireplace. As with most gas valves, the instructions are intense and must be followed exactly- so be ready for a tough read through before you even think of installing this unit yourself. Otherwise, it worked first time and a number of times over the past month. Highly recommended. Oh, and my unit it is the exact same excellent quality as the original unit we replaced. There was no sign of poor construction as mentioned by a couple other buyers.

This did the trick to replace my fireplace valve with little to no modifications. Had to modify my existing mounting bracket as this had holes in different place. This is basically a universal 750mv gas valve that can be used for many applications

I used this unit to replace a sixty year old assembly in a vintage Magic Chef RV heater. The old unit still worked, but had no provision for temperature control or external thermostat. The heater was rated at 7 K BTU's - well within the capacity of this control. I also installed the LP conversion kit for the new control, which took all of five minutes and worked fine. I did have to swap out the original thermocouple for a millivolt unit, which took a minor amount of modification to the pilot assembly. The whole thing fit, it worked great, and now I have a remote thermostat on the wall to regulate the heat. Very happy. Just remember - when you are working with gas you need to know what you are doing or your friends will be reading about you in the newspaper.

I'm using this as a replacement valve for my gas log fireplace. Everything works fine except when I turn my wall switch off, it takes 10-15sec for the fire to extinguish. I would expect it to take less than 5 sec.

The gas valve worked great for me on a 25 year old natural gas fireplace.. If your existing one looks like the one in the picture it will work.. I couldn't find my model number 711-811-341, 7000 mvrlc Robertshaw.. I guess this new one is universal.. I was hoping at first I just needed a new thermopile 10 dollar part but after holding the pilot light in and releasing it the pilot light was still going out and not staying lit.. Kit has everything you need.. My original one had smaller gas in gas out holes.. The newer gas value had bigger holes.. They give you threaded in theaded out connectors if your original gas valve has smaller holes.. Tools and tread paste all you need.. REMEMBER WHEN WORKING WITH GAS YOU NEED TO TURN THE MAIN GAS VALVE OFF FIRST AND WHEN DONE YOU CHECK FOR LEAKS WITH SOAPY WATER.. Average skill set half to hour replacement time

After reading reviews it was clear that I needed to modify my mount bracket that was achieved by drilling a hole in the bracket took no longer then 15 seconds

The unit is quite easy to install except the pilot lite tubing that connects to the body of this unit. It is very difficult to tighten properly and requires a special wrench
