Mission: We rescue pets to rescue people. This is the heart and soul of our mission. We rescue pets from unsafe circumstances and give them the care required to allow them to be placed in loving homes. We also run therapy programs where we bring our animals to organizations serving people in need. They provide human beings with animal companionship that elevates their quality of life and can provide a therapeutic solution for emotional and physical ailments.
Results: We currently adopt 2200 animals a year, many are therapeutic placements. Nearly 75% of our adoptions are cats. We also do dogs, guinea pigs and rabbits. Our therapy programs go to several locations. One is an animal assisted therapy program with Ann's Place in Danbury, CT. We bring therapy animals there to comfort cancer victims and their families. Peopleexperience the positive emotions brought on by an interaction with an animal, anxiety subsequently decreases, moods lift, and defense mechanisms are lowered.
