I bought it to wear to an air show when I would be in the sun most of the day. It shielded my face and neck well though it was a little warm. I was happy with it.

I like the hat overall. But, it has one issue. Being a white hat compounds this issue. The piece of leather used as an adjuster on the retention string will bleed brown on any cloth it comes in contact with while wet. If the hat were a dark color it wouldn't be noticeable. But, with the hat being white, it is very noticeable. I could not get the stain out noticed other places where the same had happened. I cut the leather piece off already. I'd suggest the same to anyone else. Only, cut it off before it stains any lighter colored cloth.

Not waterproof like it says, just had to waterproof it myself - not a big deal. Decent fit

This hat is deff not red, it is maroon digital camo. It's cool, fits well. I got it to match school colors. It's deff not red.

The hat seems to be of good quality but the fit runs large. I have worn XL hats for 50 years but this hat in XL fits too large.

I prefer the feel of Tru Spec boonies, but they don't offer as many color choices as Rothco. All the Rothco boonies feel the same to me - stiff and uncomfortable no matter how many times you wash them.

If you are like me and you are on the edge of tacticool this Boonie will push you way over the edge. While working outside at my job no one took me seriously. However, upon donning this 5 awesomeness and 5 confidence boost to equal 10 tacticool Boonie hat people still didn't take me seriously but they did notice me. With the Chocolate Chip pattern I have Gulf War vets coming up to me and explaining how they tried to earned a purple heart by sliding behind a dumpster on base during a mortar attack. I have to be careful wearing it around town though, certain politically inclined individuals run away screaming in terror that I'll kill them with a machine gun and that I'm not a kind person. Before when I went shooting I was all over the place and constantly being escorted from the range. But now with this baby keeping the sun out of my eyes... I can finally see my target.A word of warning to you. Be careful whom you bestow this operator level accessory upon. My 16 month old daughter put it on and she immediately sprouted a full beard and plate carrier and had an aroma of gun powder and quality coffee.For those of you who can handle it, tacti-up!

I like this hat because I can wear on my boat and get it wet without the brim sagging down over my eyes like most of the wider brim hats out there. It seems to be a thicker grade of canvas fabric that just feels durable. I also has the chin strap to keep it from blowing off my head at some speed or in a stiff wind. I would buy this again.

My go to fishing hat. Fits great and looks even better. Love the elastic headband to keep it secure when it is windy.

What more do you need to know? The hat fits well, is well-made, and the red digital pattern goes with my red digital camo BDUs.I'm told that this color and style would be good for deer hunters, as deer are mostly color blind so you would stand out to fellow humans with guns while the deer ignore you.

The fabric is good quality but the hat runs a size small. I got a 7 1/4 and should have gotten a size up.

Product comes tightly rolled up. The only way to flatten the brim for great look is to iron the brim all the way around.

Quality constructon

First off, try to remember that this is a $13 hat. It isn't military issue or milspec, and I don't think it was ever intended to fool anyone into thinking the wearer is GI Joe (nor was that my expectation when I ordered it). Overall quality is fine. It is a decent Boonie hat reproduction, and for the price, it suits me well enough. Fit was true to size.Now some negatives...I agree with other reviewers that the hat came so tightly rolled into a small bag that it caused unwanted creases that are difficult (but not impossible) to remove, and one side of the chin strap was so far out of place that it was unusable until I detached it and sewed it back into a more appropriate location. It's always disappointing to see that something is made in China, but these are the times we live in. Overall I'm satisfied with the purchase.
