This shirt shrunk down two sizes after just one wash. And it was not put in the dryer. Very disappointing!!!

The other reviews you may have read are correct. They shrink. I normally wear a medium or, if i want a looser fit, a large. Since i wanted a looser fit for layering, I ordered an XL and after four wash AND dry cycles the fit is right where I want it. It IS soft. It IS heavy. If you're taller than 5'10" it may shrink too much for you.

I wanted a purple buffalo plaid/check flannel shirt. This is the best value of what’s available.BIG XL, closer to a 2XL in fit. I tried on both the L and the XL at my local store but was advised to go with the larger size due to shrinkage potential. Possibly shrunk a little after the first wash, and I followed the care instructions to the letter. Instructions stipulate, “Do not tumble dry”, so i hung it up and waited. Afterwards, it’s still big and baggy, though possibly a little less so. Will wait a few more washes cycles to figure out if I want or need to get it tailored... as it fit out of the package, I’d like it tailored a bit. Definitely NOT a slim fit. Expect it to come like an old school flannel, big and boxy.THICK, warm flannel material. Definitely more substantial than the thin fashion flannels available at the mall and discount stores. The fabric is good for the price, maybe even excellent if you can pick one of these up for $25-$30. That’s about what they sell for in my neck of the woods, though I paid more for this one because my local military surplus guy carries these but wouldn’t order me the purple one.The buttons though.... they are fine for function, but they look VERY cheap and cheesy. If you want to wear the shirt out on a date or something, you’d probably want to replace the buttons, which I’ll probably do as well. This is going to be a $75 shirt when I’m done with replacing buttons and getting it tailored which seems crazy though, for what it is.

I say I look like a true craftsman in this shirt. I get respect in Lowes wearing this bad boy.Rock the work truck in a shirt that won't let you freeze while in line at the roach coach on coffee break. Work in style. Dammit.

It was a little big before I washed it. Now it's a little small. There are a few loose threads. And the description says 36 oz. I assumed this meant 36 oz. Per yard fabric was used. But only the collar and cuffs feel like 36 oz. The rest feels more like 9 oz. per yard fabric.
