For the price, it's durable and well made. The cinch straps arepretty long which allowed me to strap a small jacket under them. Perfect for my day hiking needs. I love this bag. My only frustration is that the mounts for suspenders are right above where the ALICE clips attach to the bag, so the whole thing wants to sag backwards away from the belt. I modified the bag by moving the plastic anchors to the top edge of the bag and using those to attach the bag to my pistol belt. I hope the photos help demonstrate a little better. With that small modification, the bag now hangs very neatly off the belt with or without suspenders. Some might be concerned that having the plastic anchors inside the belt might be uncomfortable but I can't actually notice them. They sit well away from the spine and the bag pulls on the belt in such a way as to not push them into my back.

Does not have strap connectors for the load bearing Y back strap. This is a bad limitation.

The pack is nice and will be great to use. The belt clips are very thin and not of spring metal. They bend and do not stay fastened. I will be tossing them and using mil spec clips.

Got this to use with a pistol belt and harness, and quickly found that the plastic D-rings for clipping the harness to was sewn on way to low and resulted in the pack bouncing around and pulling away when I put stuff into it

This is a solid reproduction of the originals quality-wise, it would seem. Yes, if we are going to get into semantics, the colors are a bit off. However; for someone like me who intends to use it on equipment for practical application, not as an impression, this is fine. The bag includes the two buckle clips which can also be tightened down to hold items such as a poncho or other small roll-able stuff under the butt pack. Alongside this, you can also HEAVILY tighten these straps down. This makes for less noise with what you are carrying and allows it to jumble around less. A tight pack is a light pack. Also, I've seen a supposed 'downfall' of this in one or two other reviews that I would like to address. These reviews state that the D-rings on the back of the bag are out of place, not helpful, and protrude into the lower back. What these folks don't know, is this is where you are supposed to attach your suspenders. As with the originals, this prevents the pack from drooping less when carrying a larger load inside of it. Overall, a solid little pouch. Includes metal alice clips and what not, has what you need.

D-rings rigged too low , NOT high speed / low drag . A professional soldier relies greatly on his 782 web gear . The ability to RUC UP , MOVE OUT , PRESS ON IS PARAMOUNT IN THE GAME OF SURVIVAL . To survive is ,too live when others DIE ! SURVIVAL is to make do with what you have available when all hope for RESCUE IS EXHAUSTED .

Could have sewn on D rings on back of pack to secure shoulder straps

Missed five stars because there are no rings for the suspenders of the LBE to attach to. This causes the pack to hang and be heavy on the back. The old butt packs had rings to attach the suspender straps to so that the weight was on your shoulders.Does the job though and fits a lot of stuff. Great for bushcrafting or militia work.

I love this bag. Strapping on the sides allowed me to add more cargo pouches to the bag.The bag itself attached to my main backpack easily.

Pack was a little bit bigger than I thought it would be. Straps are long enough. Straps on bottom would fit a rolled up poncho well. Configuration of D-rings and straps on back of pack a little unclear as to their use. Listing needs more pictures, specifically of the back and bottom.

If your looking for a high quality reproduction of the old canvas originals, this is not it. Nothing nylon can ever compare to the durability of the old GI issue butt packs. But this isn't bad for the price. My parents bought me an old Vietnam era butt pack to attach to my GI pistol belt back in the early 90s. I have been using that same gear ever since, and it will likely hold up the rest of my life. This Rothco butt pack is very thin, and won't stand the test of time if used often. But it'll do the job. All the other gear going on this setup is nylon as well, and it matches the other Rothco gear I purchased.
