There's a reason this is such a classic. There's not much to it, just an old-school knit hat, but it holds up and travels well in a bag or large pocket for an extra bit of cold-weather protection when you need it. It tends to ride up on your head until you get it broken in, but they all do that. Once it's broken in it fits your head perfectly. It's definitely wool; I like that but folks that are sensitive to wool might not be comfortable in it.

I have long hair and a large head (7 5/8) and it tends to retract and slip off up the top of my head. If I pull it way down its okay. Worked well in the winter unless the wind was strong.

Fit is a bit large compared to an original GI cap.A bit disappointing because of that, but otherwise quality is OK.Still searching for one with a proper fit.

I don't have a large head. I typically where a 7 1/8 to 7 1/4 size hat, depending on the maker and this cap is slightly too snug for me, however, it does keep my head warm.

fits good, i have a 22.5" circumference head and a lot of hair. stays on whle skating with my hair tucked up inside or let down. Not 'thin' per se, while light does shine through, and it's not windproof, the hat is still nice and warm. much better than fleece watchcaps

I have a big head (7 1/2 ?) but this hat is "one size fits most". It is somewhat small, but is well made. The wool weave is less dense than another "somewhat small" wool jeep cap from another vendor. The cut of the hat and the angle of the brim on this one is better than the other vendor's cap which has excess material at the top and a brim is so high that it never protects your eyes from sunlight. I use the cap while layout boat hunting for ducks.

What can I say, this is nothing if not a proven design. A little small but, it will be fine after a few snow blowing sessions. I need the small visor for sun protection after eye surgery. My boonie hat isn't warm enough for winter.
