Im 5'7, 38w with 52" shoulders. I ordered a 3x, fits but not much room to layer up. sleeves seem way to long and the pockets are middle torso making them nonfunctional for hands. overall the jacket seems to be good enough quality for the price. I stayed warm using it while hunting in place with temps around the low to mid 20's. Overall, I'm satisfied with the jacket.

I was looking for a jacket that kept me dry in the rain and warm in the cold. After reviewing a few options, I settled on the Rothco Softshell. After wearing it in the rain and cold I’ve determined that it’s perfect for my needs.

The only issue that I have is the the collar is a bit awkward especially with the hood tucked away.

This fits rather snug so order large. There are no convenient external pockets for hands. I bought this to carry a handgun in the rear pocket but even a small gun sticks out like a sore thumb. I can't really recommend it due to the sizing and pocket issues. It is well made, warm just not functional the way I wanted.

Fit on me is a bit snug in the arms, I am a gorilla. Neither waterproof, nor as breathable as I thought a soft shell should be. For the money though it's worth rolling in the dirt for the afternoon

I purchased this jacket for a trip to Maine as it is advertised to be water resistant. I spent the extra dollars to receive a better quality product.
This brand leaks at every seam with light rain. The hood is an interesting design it's to bulky to stow in the collar with out strangling you . When deploying the hood it leaves the interior of the jacket exposed to rain and water soaks down the liner of the jacket. I now have to buy some water repellent to seal the seams. Its nice to spend $90 and now have to spend another $10-$15 for sealer. In short if you want a true Tactical jacket i would suggest a GI BDU M65 field jacket and a can of water repellent you'll save a lot of money. for a better jacket

Great jacket! I am 5-11 200 lb with broad shoulders. Definitely order a size up. Great design and I like the oversized Hood. Some people are giving negative remarks about the sleeves being too long but actually they are perfect especially for a tactical jacket if you're going to be doing any type of maneuvering or shooting plenty of arm room. The neck room is a little tight with the hood stowed away so I just put it in the small of back pocket. Initially I ordered extra large which was definitely too small to 2x seems to fit quite nicely. On a side note when I initiated the return the pickup and the replacement was here very quickly great job.

Not for me. The jacket is very warm and seems to be well built but i just dont wear it like i thought i would. My friend chris has one and he wears it all the time and loves it. Just comes down to personal preference. My only real complaint are the zippers on the inside of the arm, they can be quite annoying when wearing with a shirt sleeve shirt. If you want a jacket that will keep you warm, this is the one.

OK, so far, I do love this jacket. I can foresee that it will be exactly what I need for particular tasks.
Let me first start off by saying that I'm 5'10" and 155 lbs. I got a small, and it's just right. One might find that the arms are a big wide; however, I do believe that's part of the design. The length is just right. In addition, the overall length of the jacket is great, especially considering I got it to wear while carrying OWB holster on right side.
With that said, I like that it comes just to my waist. Also, I really like and am very glad that it's a feature, the elastic sinch on the right side is INSIDE the waist band of the jacket, and when not tightened, will remain inside. This will prevent interference with a holstered sidearm. If carrying, the chest pockets have a nice little slot on each side that fits a 17 round mag.
I got this because it would be a nice, medium weight jacket. It's nice enough to wear when chilly, but seems as though there's plenty of room for layers. I did read that it's awful when wearing only short sleeves -- this is true -- solution: don't do that. I will take the under-arm zippers for heat relief any day. And it is, from what I've seen in a light rain shower, water resistant +. I have yet to fully test this jacket in either the cold or the elements though. I am writing this from my initial impressions with light testing. I can say with confidence that this jacket is going to a great addition to my field kit this fall and winter. I will update if I see differently.

That update comes now --
I've worn this jacket while working in a blizzard and while playing in the snow. I'm confident that with a nice mid-layer (I would recommend a Columbia Omni-heat fleece) this jacket performs spectacularly. The venting is a great option for those who will be wearing this while performing activities -- allowing the moisture to escape without allowing yourself to be too vulnerable to wind and cold.
This did well with keeping off snow. The hood was helpful, too, and easy to manipulate with gloved hands.

Retired Army. I wish this had been issued to me long ago. 5"9' 240lbs. XL fits perfect with room for 2 layers of poly underneath. Most XL jackets are tight on my shoulders, this one fits great. Sleeves aren"t too long and cuff velcro is there to adjust anyway. Sheds water like a beast. Hood cinches down to block wind and rain. Pockets are good, lots of room. Only improvement would be multicam.
