In July of 2015 I bought a ExOfficio Flyq vest Lite Khaki large for a trip to Africa. I did not want one with pockets hanging out for lenses and such. I am a 44 regular about 200# 5'10". It was snug but I really liked it. It was very important that the luggage only weighted 10 kg (22 pounds) so heavy small electronics went in the vest. Now heading to Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Russia, and Iceland for about a month. I thought a slightly heavier vest would be ok in cooler areas and I got the Rothco large. Frankly brilliant. The flyq is light, but not that much lighter. The Rothco is very roomy, at the same size purchased. The pockets are virtually identical except there is only one zip breast pocket instead of 2. No big deal. On our weight limited flights I am confident I can offload external batteries, smaller backup cameras, phones, etc to this vest and 1- they wont show, and 2- the vest will not be tight. I have not washed it yet so I don't know how it will hold up. Testing all the zippers they feel pretty substantial. There is room for my ipad mini and a kindle fire 7, and the other stuff i mentioned above. Not to mention, the Rothco was $20 less this week than the ExOfficio was 2 years ago. Update- Ipad mini with leather case and keyboard in the left lower pocket, Kindle 7 in the right lower pocket, galaxy note 4 left inside upper, Nexus 6 right inside upper, and several pockets left to use. The black and slightly large in size hides it better than my travel buddies Scott Vest.
