I ordered the Rothco vest after searching the internet and finding several styles of vest, most designed for fishing, photography or other activities. Two brands seemed to be best for travel with a smooth exterior and multiple interior pockets for items needed when on the road or going about daily activities. The highly rated more expensive vest had multiple reviews complaining about zipper malfunction and too thin fabric. I therefore ordered the Rothco large ( I am short and rotund) and found it snug with a long sleeve sweat shirt. I then ordered the extra large, which fit fine. I ended up keeping both because the large worked great with a polo for summer travel and the extra large is great with a thicker long sleeve shirt. I have used them for travel and daily activities and everything works perfectly. Also, the two vests cost less than one of the more expensive model.

Wore this on a trip to Africa, through airport security inspections, on lengthy plane flights, daily on travels through the country. Kept my travel docs, money, meds, personal care items, etc. secure on my person and readily available. It was a little warm when temps got up into the 80's, but the peace of mind was definitely worth it! I recommend it highly.

I normally wear a large in vests like this (Condor). The large in this vest was like a tent. So I ordered the medium. It was too small to zip up. BOTH vests did not come below the belt line. There is no way you would hide a pistol, even carried high, with these vests. Also, they are 100% cotton and to be honest look more like a fishing vest then something a man would wear casually.

Heavier than I expected it to be. This vest is solidly constructed of durable material that feels like it will stand the test of time. Plenty of storage pockets. Some of the zippers were hidden, but once located, revealed the abundance that this vest can store. I look forward to utilizing the many compartments on my next flight.

I ordered a med., it was marked med. but the waist was XL and it hung off me like a large. Returned it.
