Was bought as a gift.... She loves it, and states it is very warm, remember the hearing "I was roasting" "I love it"... Bought it as she needed a warm coat, I'm retired military and familiar with this style coat...

Got an xl and the zipper went from my neck to right above my belly button. I am 6’1”. So I promptly returned. Otherwise seemed like a quality coat besides the fit.

It's not down filled, but it is just what I needed. My 6'1" 250 frame fit the XXL just fine. "Washed for the vintage look" I don't need but whatever, it looks good to me. The AF had it right, this is the perfect parka.

OK...first the Pros:
I really like the fabric, its a nice thick cotton, and I think its going to wear well. The buttons are sewed on tight, the sleeve pocket is big enough for a small notebook, and the pen pockets actually hold modern pen/pencils.
Its got a nice heavyweight brass zipper
I ordered the XL and its appropriate for its size. Parkas are designed to be layered under, particularly those modeled on the military N3-B this one is no exception. My normal coat size is a Large, and ordering an XL allows me to layer long johns, sweaters/polar fleece and a polar fleece vest. I know from prior experience that this coat with those layers will allow me to sleep in a snowdrift at -20F
I really like that the fake fur ruff is detachable. I made the mistake of washing one years ago and it was never the same again.
Cons:
I think the pockets are a little small. The interior pocket is made to fit the old flip phone...my iPhone 8 with a Otterbox Defender case doesn't fit. Nor can I carry a checkbook or anything else of any reasonable size. I'm using that pocket for my travel size Kleenex. The slash pocket/hand pockets will barely fit a pair of gloves, and I can't get a stocking cap in there with the gloves without fear of it falling out. The cargo pockets (both sides) have more space, but I think I got spoiled with my "real" N3B from the 80s.
Because they made this coat with a detachable hood (as well as the detachable ruff...why?) the zipper does not go into snorkel mode. One of the biggest selling points of the old N3B was the ability to block the wind from the face...and this coat can't do it. I may sew the hood on permanently, and replace the zipper with a longer one. The material is there for the alteration. Another addition that would be welcome is a hood adjustment strap. All it does is stop the top of the hood from falling down past the chin when not in snorkel mode. Other reviewers complain that the hood is "too big" Its not too big. Its just been designed with enough material to go into a snorkel configuration...

So, the jacket itself is great. I love the design and style of it. The hardware, the color, the pockets, the faux fur on the hood. The jacket feels great...very cozy and the hood is nice a deep, offering great coverage. The ISSUE is the SIZE. I ordered a SMALL and it is HUGE. I know it is supposed to be a somewhat roomy/ oversize coat to fit over bulky winter sweaters etc....but WHOA! I read two reviews from women that are about my weight and height. I am 130lbs and 5'8" and I am SWIMMING in the size SMALL. I am reluctant to exchange for the X-SMALL, because I think that will be too big, aswell.

It is a nice parka but up here in minnesota with a second fleece under it I could still feel the cold on my back it was only 5 degrees but we have a lot of those days. Well built not super warm. If you are planing on working outside and moving around you should be fine.

I ordered the extra-small size because it seems like every coat I buy these days (including small size) is too big. I am 5'6" , 130lb. Overall, the size of this coat IS okay for me. The sleeve length and coat length is perfect. It does however, feel a bit snug for me, around the shoulders and the back of my neck if I have a sweater on. I think part of the perception of that is because the coat is so heavy. t and I mean heavy as in weight. So you feel that weight on your shoulders. Whatever the fill is, it's not light. The day after I received it, we entered a warm period here in the midwest and so I have not needed it yet. I'm sure it will be warm enough, even without wearing a sweater with it. The furry lining in the hood is REALLY nice and soft. I would rate it a good value for the price.

It is a warm coat, but it is not a snorkel hood. The hood is removable, so it precludes it from being a snorkel hood. I live in Minnesota, so a warm jacket is a necessity. It is warm, but is not waterproof or windproof. 30 minutes running the snow blower and I was soaked. It is okay for moderate climates, but would not recommend for very cold areas. Would not recommend and will not purchase again.

got this jacket as a xmas gift from the wife but she brought me in on it to help with the sizing before she ordered.
so first off, SIZING :im 5'9" 210 lbs with broad shoulders and chest which can cause fitting problems sometimes, bought an XLG and it fits perfect! read the reviews and saw alot of people mentioned going up one size but i wasnt sure. personally, im not a fan of the snug tight fitting clothes. id rather a relaxed fit, ESPECIALLY for a heavy winter coat. so i figured if its slightly oversized then ordering my regular size might be a perfect fit. and it worked out. id say if u like the snugger fit drop down a size, but if u plan on layering or just like a relaxed fit, order ur normal size.

quality: so far so good. came in perfect condition. VERY heavy duty coat. seems to be made very well so far.

now for function: so im from new orleans, now living in iowa fighting these northern winters. i absolutely HATE the cold! this jacket seriously makes it almost unnoticeable that its 0° (give or take) outside. very heavy and very warm. hood is fairly large which can be annoying sometime but usually only when u try to look left or right to far and u get a face full of faux fur. otherwise, more than enough winter weather protection to keep even someone like me warm whos not used to this winter stuff lol.

overall: i HIGHLY recommend this jacket. looks great, made very well, and does what its supposed to without a doubt. does its job better than london fog or north face jackets ive had in the past at comes at half the cost.

I love this parka, but it does come large! I normally wear XL and most XL clothes fit perfectly on me, but an XL in this is huge! The arms are pretty puffy and I almost think I could get away with a medium, definitely a large. Good quality Parka though and it's pretty warm! Not waterproof.
