Mission: Ruff life animal rescue was founded in october of 2012, as a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the unnecessary killing of adoptable dogs and cats of the carolinas. We are strictly a foster based rescue, with hopes of opening up a no-kill shelter, complete with training, grooming and boarding facilities. As of november, 7,2012, ruff life animal rescue is recognized by the irs as a 501(c)3 non-profit rescue organization.

Programs: We rescue animals in danger of euthanasia from north and south carolina shelters and place them in approved foster homes until adoption. We provide veterinary care, preventatives, vaccinations and spay/neuter. Due to the overwhelming number of animals at risk of euthanasia, we limit the number of owner surrenders we can accept and try to work with families to help them keep their pets. As a foster homed based organization, we have no public facility for our animals to be viewed at. We rely on adoption events at various locations throughout the community. These events are key to getting our pets viewed and are a huge factor in the number of lives we are able to save. We currently partner with pet supplies plus and petsmart for adoption events we take every opportunity to educate the public about the benefits of spay/neuter and vaccinations for prevention of disease.
