When I had to replace my hitch after being rear-ended, I went with a Mopar one first - after all, it was the OEM part, it should be better, correct? Wrong - I couldn't get the Mopar hitch to tighten without stripping the threads on the bolts, the welded nuts were simply too close of a fit to be able to tighten the bolts correctly. I was worried that had I torqued things down to where they needed to be, I would strip too much of the thread off the bolt to be safe. With this RR hitch, not having the nuts welded to the hitch means that tightening them is just like any other bolt/nut combo - I was able to do it in only a few minutes with minimal effort, and torquing them to the recommended value was easy with a 1/2-drive wrench. Having held both in my hand, I can't tell any difference in build quality - I can't speak to the wiring harness as I reused the original, but it seemed well-built.I do have an ARB rear bumper, which does seem to give more clearance around the front of the hitch - I've read about people with stock bumpers having clearance issues with getting a wrench to where the nuts are to be able to tighten it. Just something to keep in mind...

A 700 dollar option at jeep and took me all of 20 min to install. The wiring harness is spot on. Even has little mounting clips for wire that match up to predrilled spots already on jeep frame.

This item does not work with JEEP 18-21 JLUit fits but it's design for JKU, it's to short and makes it imposible to hook the trailer or connect to the ball hitch

Hitch and wiring came in a sturdy box. SImple install for each, took me about 30 minutes all together just bc it is a tight space to work behind the rear bumper. Looks great and seems to be made of strong material. The paint job on t looks great too. Harness snaps in line and has clip things to keep it tucked up out of the way. 100 would recommend it.

I got the cheaper kit on this page hoping it would come with the harness, it did! Installed easy and the lights hooked up no problem. We are towing our utility trailer now with ease! I took the bumper off to install, added an extra few minutes, but worth the step.

I would have given this 5 stars except the plug does not fit in the mounting bracket as seen in the pics. I opened a customer support ticket and never received a response after 2 weeks. Their CS stinks and there is no phone number to reach anyone at. If you don't mind the plug hanging down it is a good hitch and wiring setup but if that will bother you avoid this one and wait for the Quadratec version to be back in stock. Install and wiring was easy enough. The JK wiring is easier but the new JL required it to be powered so you have to run the included wire to the battery. The hitch itself seems to be similar to the Mopar one and just as functional.

So, this wasn't too difficult to install. Everything fit as it should. If you have a stock JK bumper it may be easier to take it off before installation. Especially if you have large hands. All the bolts went in with no issue, and the wiring harness was a piece of cake. The real trouble, for me anyway, were the inner bolts washer/nut. I just simply couldn't get my big meat hooks to fit in between the stock bumper and the metal frame.Fortunately, my wife is far more intelligent, and thought outside the box. I was able to fit the washer on, but then, thanks to her, placed the nut in the 19mm crescent wrench. I put a small amount of duct tape over the outer portion of the wrench which held the nut in place. I then was able to place the nut into position, and use the 18mm ratchet to fasten the screw into the nut.The entire installation took about 45 minutes. Of course, had it not been for my wife's idea, I'd probably still be out there trying to get it installed.
